CLASSES! CLASSES! CLASSES!

An issue was pointed out to me this morning that, if I had known about it, had slipped my mind. I need to physically post items for those of you who have signed up as being interested in my various class venues. For some reason I ‘assumed’ that when I made posts on my blogspot that the information magically came to you. (Check out our blog at www.sandyarthur.blogspot.com. )

Not so.

Therefore, I am going to try to do better.

I am teaching this week at Designers Desk in Historic Geneva, IL (outside of Chicago). I will be teaching an embellishment class – which means everyone brings their own canvas and I work with them to discuss stitch possibilities, thread suggestions and/or various techniques. Always fun classes! Designers Desk (the shop) is up for sale and we hate to see Pat Delp retire but we all get there someday if we are fortunate. However, I don’t think this will be the last we see of Pat.

I return home for a couple of days then I’m off to Houston to Chandail to teach a class on a special ‘Texas Boot Scootin’ design.  You may contact Saira at Chandail for information as this class is also open to ghosts.

Another class that you can still sign up for (I think registration closes May 27) is hosted by the ANG Winston-Salem Chapter.  It is my Pumpkin Spiced Tea  class and has great techniques including some needle felting and stumpwork.  They, too accept ghosts.  Contact Pat schmidsrus  @   aol.com  (remove spaces, please) to inquire about participating.

A very exciting phase of my life is involved in Online Mystery Classes!  I’ll bring you up to date on these in more detail in my next e-blast. These are way too fun!  A new class is introduced every 2 months.  Each class lasts for 6 months.  Participants sign up for the class, pay a one time lesson fee to cover a 6-lesson packet, and then purchase their canvas and materials from their local needlepoint shop (or their stash).  For those without a LNS they contact me for suggestions as to places of which I am aware that might have the particular canvas in stock.  Also, several shops are willing to prepare thread kits as a service to those who desire to have them do so.

Our new class that will begin next week is the Pillow Collage from Needlepoint of Back Bay.  This class is outside the normal 6-month time span.  Since the canvas is so large we are covering each lesson over a 2-month period so the class will be active for a full year.

Have a great week and Stitch with a Smile!
