GOLDEN AMBER 3 inch Needlepoint Ornament Class
The rich colors of gold and amber combine in the art of needlepoint stitches and beading in this second of a series of 3 inch elegant ornaments for the intermediate level stitcher.
The Golden Amber Needlepoint design turns an ordinary Styrofoam ball into a fairy-tale ornament with elegant beaded embellishments.
Stitches include the Brick , Crescent Stitch, Victorian Step Stitch, Slanted and Upright Gobelin, Long-Arm Cross Stitch, and Triangle Stitch Variation.
Additionally, the student will use Specialty Fibers such as YLI RibbonFloss and Metallics – including YLI RibbonFloss Metallics and Kreinik Size #16 Braid in two colors.
Embellishments include Beads such as 3mm faux pearls, mirror-lined bugle beads, and faux crystal teardrops.
As a final bonus, the student will learn how to create this enchanting round ornament from a flat, stitched piece of fabric and top it off with a fluffy bow. The finishing is easily accomplished by the stitcher with guidance from Sandy Arthur.
With the aid of very detailed diagrams and instructions, students will be guided through the step-by-step process of:
- stitching the canvas
- adding beaded embellishments
- placing the canvas on the Styrofoam ball, and
- creating the wonderful bow on top.
This is a six week class.
Needlepoint Kit Contents: All materials needed to stitch this piece are provided:
- 8 inch x 12 inch Zweigart 18ct mono canvas
- ALL project threads
- head pins
- beads
- beading thread
- needles
- detailed, step by step instructions and stitch diagrams, and
- a color photocopy of the project.
Students must provide 8 inch x 12 inch stretcher bars and normal stitching supplies.
When stitching is completed, the student will need to provide:
- 3 inch Styrofoam ball
- long straight pins, and
- Sobo or Tacky glue to complete the finishing technique.
