Hoot Owl Shift<\/strong> is one of three cross stitch<\/strong> tributes to the coal miners<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

Some miners <\/strong>refer to the "midnight shift<\/strong>" or "third shift<\/strong>" as the Hoot Owl Shift.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This cross stitch <\/strong>design shows a miner <\/strong>heading into the mine shaft <\/strong>wearing his helmet and carrying his lunch "bucket". <\/p>\n

Hoot Owl Shift<\/strong> is stitched on Zweigart Aida 18<\/strong> white fabric.  The design area is 5-1\/8 inches x 7 inches.  The fabric size is 10 inches x 12 inches.<\/p>\n

The design uses full cross stitches <\/strong><\/em>and backstitches<\/strong><\/em>. <\/p>\n

The colors of this cross stitch design are monochromatic.  Threads used are DMC<\/strong> or Anchor stranded cotton floss<\/strong>, Rainbow Gallery Fiesta <\/strong>and YLI RibbonFloss<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
